I have always loved fitness classes and working out and have fluctuated
uated with my weight, diet, and routine workouts. I retired in November 2018 and decided it was time to get in shape and stop some bad habits such as Diet Coke and diet Mountain Dew! Thankfully I had Fitness Firm and their great instructors and fit friends to help along the way! My cousin Barbie invited me to a “crank and shred” spin class with Alison Byers and I’m a dedicated spinner. Alison is awesome and if you haven’t tried one of her classes you need to! Later I ventured into a class I had never heard of....TBT-Total Body Tabata with Alicia Gehefer and wow, what an intense, calorie torching and muscle building class that is! I also enjoy Alicia’s kettlebell classes and my favorite is TBT leverage on Friday mornings that focuses on strength training. In the past, I would do more cardio such as running through town when our kids practiced sports or doing the treadmill or elliptical. I had no upper body strength.
I am addicted to Fitness Firm classes and hate to miss them. The pandemic was hard and I decided to do online workouts which were not as good as in person, but still effective. I have also changed my eating habits by doing intermittent fasting, eating more whole foods, and carb cycling, as well as watching my macros. I’m happy to say I lost 30 pounds by the summer of 2019 and I’m now doing my best to maintain! I’m thankful for good instructors and all my fit friends! I love when my daughter joins in on the fun too! I want to be as healthy as I can both physically and mentally and working out works for me! “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bo
